Heal Your LifeBecoming more aware of your life experience can increase your health, enhance treatments you already participate in and even heal your bodily dysfunctions all together.

Healing begins with being aware of what your emotions, mind, spirit and body are telling you to do. You may say, my body doesn't speak to me does it? Yes it does, and more often than you may think. Our bodies have a flawless system of sharing with us what we need to know to help it.

Your self-healing system is built upon learning how to listen better. Self-awareness is the ability to be aware of your total experience of life: emotionally, mentally, spiritually and physically. Think of it this way. Instead of listening outward for healing guidance, go within . . . and listen inward. Let me explain.

First, listen to your intuition. Everyone has it and everyone uses it. Have you ever had a hunch about someone or you knew they were going to call before you actually spoke to them on the phone? This is intuition. Listen more to your intuition, even if it means changing your lifestyle.

Second, listen to your thoughts and feelings. Thoughts spark emotions so it's important to look at both of them. Your thoughts and feelings tell you what you can do to improve your life. Take responsibility for what you think and feel. Monitor your self-talk. Believe you are empowered to change your life experience at any time and you will change it.

What you think and feel about life and how you express your feelings and thoughts directly determines your health. Have you heard about the mind-body connection? If you are at peace with your life, your body is healthier. Blood pressure, headaches as well as heart problems are just a few dysfunctions relieved by feeling more peaceful. If you don't like your life experience, change it or find someone to help you do it.

Third, listen to your body. If your intuition, thoughts and feelings do not make an impression on you to change your lifestyle, your body is the last line of defense before you become ill or even depart this life. When your body speaks to you, please listen. Learn to fine tune your inner ears to hear when your body needs something. Your life is a feedback loop providing valuable information for you to understand how to live happier. Suffering happens when we do not listen to our life experience. The voice gets louder and louder until finally we suffer. The end to suffering is reacquainting you with yourself.

Below is a simple breathing exercise to reconnect you to your healing potential.

  • Sit up or lie down. Get very comfortable. Make sure you can be alone for at least fifteen to twenty minutes.

  • Take a deep breath in from your belly and release it slowly over a period of about ten seconds. Slowly breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.

  • The following breaths are to be three counts on the inhale and three counts on the exhale. Your breath will center you so you may listen. When all is calm in your mind and emotions, which it will be after several passes of this technique, ask your mind, feelings, spirit and body to speak to you to enhance your wellbeing. Be with this mediation for about ten more minutes. Trust what you receive and take action.

Each time you meditate, your awareness will reveal more about what you need to heal and how to heal it.
